And then there were four… The march to the 2011 Super Bowl

After this last weekend of NFL playoff games, only four teams remain. Next Sunday the Green Bay Packers will travel to Chicago to take on the Bears, and the New York Jets will visit the Pittsburgh Steelers in an attempt to win their third road playoff game and a trip to the Super Bowl.

Interested in betting on one of these teams to win the 2011 Super Bowl? We have the updated odds below.

Odds to win the 2011 Super Bowl XLV
Chicago Bears 5/1
Green Bay Packers 8/5
New York Jets 7/2
Pittsburgh Steelers 2/1

Right now the Steelers are the favorite to win it all. The Packers are the favorite team from the NFC. If you like any of these teams to win the Super Bowl, you should bet them now since the odds will change after the next round of games (especially if you like either the Jets or the Bears).

This weekend give us some good match ups. The first game is between the Green Bay Packers and the Chicago Bears. Green Bay is favored by 3, but the game is being played in Chicago, making the Bears a underdog at home in the playoffs. How often does that happen in a league Championship game? Close to never!

This could make for an interesting bet. I have a freind that only bets on home underdogs, and he claims to do pretty well. Also we all remember what happened a couple weeks ago when Seattle was a home, dog in the playoffs.

Everyone things that Green Bay is a better team, and that the Bears had an easy game beating up on the Seahawks. Las Vegas usually sets their lines based on what they think people would bet, and Vegas is sure the public likes the Packers.

The over/under in this game is currently 44, and the money line odds are the Green Bay Packers -180 and the Chicago Bears +160.

The second NFL playoff game is between the New York Jets and the Pittsburgh Steelers. The line on this game in the Steelers minus 3, so Las Vegas thinks everyone will want to bet on the Steelers. There is a good reason for that. Pittsburgh has had a great year and they are playing at home. The flip-side to that is that the Jets just beat the Steelers in Pittsburgh last month! That game ended 22-17… It was close.

Vegas is also expecting this to bet a defensive battle as they’ve set the total bet at 38½. The money line on this game varies depending on what online sports book you look at. You can bet the New York Jets to win straight up anywhere between +165 and +155. You can bet the Pittsburgh Steelers to win at -175 to -190.

Those are the line and odds for this week’s NFL games. We’ll be back later in the week with more information on how to bet on the Super Bowl and a couple lists on prop bets that are offered for this weekend.

Good Luck and happy betting!
