Personally I like the over on this last bet. It might not be the best bet you can make this weekend, but it sure looks like fun! Who doesn’t like to root for offense?!?! And I think it would be awesome to see a couple of teams go over 40 points this week. Hell it could happen in one game, and you could win. Football can be that crazy “any given Sunday”.

No matter what you bet, good luck this weekend. I hope all our readers win every weekend. That’s what makes sports betting fun!

Betting Tips on the National Football League (NFL)

Sport betting is a form of gambling defined as the activity of forecasting results in competitions and placing a stake on the outcome. This is considered illegal except for the State of Nevada. At any rate, betting has become widespread in nearly all ball games to include the National Football League or NFL. Simple wagers can be made through bookmakers or different online outlets.

Likewise, it is possible to make straight bets which are wagers made against the line. It is a number designated by bookmakers which handicaps a certain team and favors another. On the other hand, proposition bets are bets made on the specific outcome of a specific match. There are parlays or multiple bets (maximum of 12) and compensates the winning bettor with a huge payout. There are also other types of wagers such as progressive parlays, teasers, goal line bets, future wagers, and in-play betting.

The National Football League season may be over. However, it does not mean that betting has stopped since futures are still available. Futures betting depend on each team’s chances of winning the Super Bowl for the next season. Betting can be very enjoyable because of the prospects of winning a large amount with fairly small bets. Here are some guidelines in placing wagers on NFL futures.super-bowl-2014

? Do not concentrate on the schedules alone. Most bettors prefer to wait until NFL schedules are released in spring. These individuals normally base stakes on this available information. However, it is not advisable to speculate on the success of teams based on potential opponents.

? Be on the lookout for up and coming rookies who can make considerable impact in the league. Study player movements because rookies and offseason recruits can mean a lot to NFL teams. At the same time, look at free agency because player acquisitions can affect the fortunes of football squads. Watching the free agency market will allow you to have access to good odds.

? The luck of talented teams can change drastically. Ball squads can make great playoff runs only to fall short of their campaigns. Thus, your futures wager will be spoiled completely. Study each team during the offseason. Keep in mind that player retirement, injuries and free agency can influence the future of any team during the succeeding season.

? Coaching changes can also play a major factor in betting. The new coach can either make or break a team and affect your futures wager.

Wagers are placed primarily through bookmakers. In essence, the bookmaker serves as market conduit for sports bettors. The bookmaker receives the bets regardless of the teams involved. A spread is maintained notwithstanding the results of the betting. Federal laws have been implemented to avert illegal bookmaking. The most prominent is the Federal Wire Act (1961) which is not relevant to other forms of web-based gambling. Bookmakers have an 11 is to 10 advantage over bettors. It is a different case for small bets because the bookmaker is limited to a 6-5 advantage.

NFL Week 15 Odds to win the Super Bowl and more bets

Below are updated odds for the 2014 Super Bowl, and more bets for the 15th week of the NFL season. The Broncos are still the favorite to win even with their loss to the Chargers the other night.

If you are crazy enough to bet on either the Jets or the Steelers, you can get them at 300-1 odds right now. Personally I wouldn’t waste my money on either of those teams.

Speaking of the Jets, they play the Carolina Panthers this week. The Panthers (currently 18/1 to win the Super Bowl) are playing well and should be a lock to make the playoffs this year. If I was to bet on a team this weekend, it would be Cam Newton and Carolina.

If you like a team that you think will just make the playoffs, but you’re not sure if you would bet on them to win the Super Bowl, don’t worry too much, because any team that makes the playoffs has a chance to win the Super Bowl. Just look at some of the stats below.

– Three of the past eight Super Bowl champions were No. 5 or No. 6 seeds. That is, they won three straight road playoff games to reach the big game. They were the 2010 Packers, the 2008 Giants and the 2006 Steelers.

– Six of the past eight Super Bowl champions didn’t have a first-round bye. They were the 2012 Ravens (No. 4 seed), 2011 Giants (No. 4 seed), 2010 Packers (No. 6 seed), 2008 Giants (No. 5 seed), 2007 Colts (No. 3 seed) and 2006 Steelers (No. 6 seed).

– Six of the past nine Super Bowl champions went on the road to win their conference championship game. That’s better than a 50/50. That’s something to remember if a team wins their conference championship game on the road this year.

– Only one No. 1 seed – the 2009 Saints – has won a Super Bowl in the past nine seasons.

– Four of the past six Super Bowl champions have had at least six regular-season losses (the 2011 Giants were 9-7). The average regular-season record of the past six champions: 10.7 wins, 5.3 losses.

– Three of the past four Super Bowl champs have had three-game regular-season losing streaks.

These stats above should help to reinforce that any NFL playoff team can go on to win the Super Bowl. It’s a matter of being a good enough team to make the playoffs to begin with, have healthy players (the less injuries the better), and getting hot at the right time. This is why some of the long shots make the best Super Bowl bets.

Don’t get me wrong, I would never advocate betting on a team like the Jets, but a bet on a team like Dallas at 35/1 doesn’t look too bad.

football money

And to some people, betting on football is what it’s all about. Sure it’s fun to have a favorite team and/or root for your fantasy football players, but when you bet on games, you can have a new favorite team every week, or every day, or every game.

Betting the sport also makes college football a lot more fun. Most people’s college’s are never very good, and only a few schools ever get to compete for the national title. But when you place a bet on any bowl game, you have a personal stake in the team that you are betting on, and that makes the game fun. It makes an otherwise meaningless game, all of a sudden very important…

And that’s why betting on the Super Bowl is so popular. It’s the biggest game of the year, but most people don’t really care who wins, except of course if you bet on it. Then the biggest game of the year is suddenly important to you, and you have something to root for. It really makes it a lot of fun.

Well, it time to watch more football. Thanks for reading!

Posted in Bet the Super Bowl | Comments Off on Any team that makes the playoffs has a shot at winning the Super Bowl

Happy Thanksgiving! Let’s bet some football!

Okay, below we have updated odds to win the Super Bowl. By now more than a few teams are completely out of it. Even teams that are mathematically not eliminated, really have no shot in winning. They’re bad teams, that have bad records, so there is really no way that they will come back to make the playoffs let alone win the Super Bowl… Yes, I’m talking to you Giants fans, as well as a number of other teams. Basically if you’re getting 200-1 odds on your team winning the Super Bowl, it’s not even worth a bet. Just bet on someone else and move on 🙂

The odds for today’s games are:

Green Bay Packers +7 (-115)
Detroit Lions -7 (-105)

The Lions are playing right now, and they’re losing 3-10 to Green Bay. If the Packers came win this game, they will still be in pretty good shape the make the playoffs when Aaron Rodgers comes back. On the other side of the ball, the Lions really need this win. It’s their annual Thanksgiving home game, and a lose would be devastating. Not only would it make it harder to make the playoffs in a tough division, it would be really demoralizing to the team and the fan base. Personally, I’m rooting for Detroit to win this one.

Oakland Raiders +9 (-115)
Dallas Cowboys -9 (-105)

The race for the NFC East is pathetic. The Cowboys and the Eagles are leading this division and both teams have looked terrible at times this year. They’re only saving grace is how bad the other teams in this division have played. That said Dallas is a large favorite today, and it understandable why. The Raiders are the Raiders, and not matter what they do, they can’t seem to get it together. I blame their front office for continuously making terrible personal decisions. So Dallas is the expected to win today by more than a touchdown, and they seems very realistic to me. Of course, it you are an Eagles fan you’re hoping for a huge upset today.

Pittsburgh Steelers +3 (-125)
Baltimore Ravens -3 (+105)

Last year’s Super Bowl winners are playing the last game of the night, and boy is this a different team from last year. They are under 500, and while their defense is still the strength of the team, they haven’t been able to establish the run game much at all this season. It’s probably the offensive lines fault, but Ray Rice is taking most of the heat, especially in fantasy football leagues. Speaking of fantasy football, have you seen how well Antonio Brown playing this year? He’s putting up some huge numbers. Who would have guessed. It’s probably because the Steelers can’t run this ball this year either, so they are throwing it.

Well, that’s enough for now. We’re still a few months out from the next Super Bowl in New Jersey (or are people saying New York?). Either way it should be a good one. It would have been cool to see either the Jets or Giants play in it, but it doesn’t look like that is going to happen.

By the way, did you know that they just legalized online gambling in New Jersey. That’s awesome. Next we need them to legalize sports betting in Atlantic City. Then we’ll finally be on pare with Europe.

Have a great holiday and thanks for stopping by!

How to bet on the Super Bowl in America

This is a question that a lot of US gamblers are asking right now. Especially gamblers in San Francisco and Baltimore (both these cities are located in states that don’t offer sports betting).

And this is the question that we are going to answer here…

Answer #1 – Sports Betting in Nevada
If you live in Nevada or close to it, this is a very easy answer. Sports betting is legal in las vegas signNevada, and there are sportsbooks throughout the state where anyone over the age of 21 can place a bet on the Super Bowl. Las Vegas is home to some of the biggest sportsbooks (and casinos) in the world. Reno, Nevada offers great action as well.

That takes care of every American that lives in 1 of our 50 states, but what about the rest of us. Well that’s not as easy.

Answer #2 – Bet with a friend
The next best solution might be to try to find someone you can bet directly against. For instance if you like the 49ers to cover the spread, and a friend or co-worker like the Ravens, you can bet directly with that person. As long as you trust that this person will pay you when you win, this is a very easy way to get a bet down on the game.

Of course this option isn’t open to a lot of people. For instance, if you live in Baltimore, everyone around you is most likely rooting for the Ravens. It could be very hard to find someone who would take the other side of your bet.

Both parties also have to trust that the other person will pay when they lose. This could be easy to do when you’re betting small amounts of money, but it you want to bet $100 or more on the game, you really need to trust that they other person will pay you if you win.

That brings us to the amount of the bet. Let’s say you want to bet $100 on the San Francisco 49ers, but you’re friend only wants to bet $20 on the Ravens, you will probably only be able to bet $20… Unless of course you know 5 people that will bet you $20 on the Ravens.

This is why most people outside of Nevada end up betting the game online.

Answer #3 – Bet with an Online Sportsbook

There are some big benefits to betting the Super Bowl online. The first is that you can place a bet from anywhere using a computer or a smart phone. You could be standing in line at the grocery store checking Facebook on your IPhone, when you suddenly realize that the online_sports_bettingover/under is way too high, and that you want to bet the under. All you would need to do is log into your online sportsbook, and place a bet. It really is that easy.

Online sportsbooks also offer a lot of Super Bowl bets that the Las Vegas casinos do not. This year, our #1 ranked sportsbook is offering over 500 different prop bets on the Super Bowl. You can find the full list HERE. It’s really incredible.

The one downside to betting sports online is funding your online account. This isn’t the easiest process as you will often need to send funds overseas (which is completely safe as long as you use a trusted sportsbook). It’s just not as easy as sending funds through PayPal or betting with cash at a casino.

Of course, you don’t have to send funds anywhere if you decide to bet with a bookie from your local bar

Answer #4 – Bet with a local bookie

This is a way that you can bet on the game, but we really don’t recommend it. Everyone has heard stories about bookies breaking people legs. There’s a good reason why you’ve heard a story like that, because it really happens.

Bookies are often tied to organized crime, and it’s safer to not deal with them at all. Let’s say you place a bet with a bookie, and he decides not to pay you. What can you do? Nothing. Let’s say you decide not to pay the bookie. What can he do? Break your legs.

All and all betting on the Super Bowl can and should be a fun experience. It’s much easier to keep it that way by not using a bookie.

To recap, the 4 ways that you can bet the Super Bowl in America are: placing a bet in Nevada, betting with a friend, betting with an offshore sportsbook, and betting with a local bookie.

We hope you enjoy the game. Currently the San Francisco 49ers are favored by 3.5 points. They open as 5 point favorites before everyone starting betting on the Ravens. The line dropped to 3.5, and we don’t expect the line to move again. You should have until the start of the game to get your bets in with this spread.

Good luck and thanks for visiting, ”Bet the NFL Super Bowl”.

The San Francisco 49ers and the Baltimore Ravens

Congratulations to the San Francisco 49ers and the Baltimore Ravens for making to the 2013 Super Bowl. It was a great weekend for both teams.

49ers Super Bowl

Our #1 ranked sportsbook for betting the Super Bowl for 3 straight years —>

The 49ers won, but they didn’t cover. They were favored by 6, and only won by 4.
The Ravens won and they easily covered. They were 7.5 point underdogs against the Patriots, and the first team that was more than 7 point underdogs to win both the division and championship playoff rounds. It looks like Las Vegas undervalued Baltimore in the playoffs.

Right now the 49ers are favored by 4 to win the Super Bowl. It’s a very interesting line. It’s more than a field goal and less than a touchdown.

The over/under opened at 49 points. It has since been bet down to 47.5 points. The early bettors like the under, while the public tends to root for points. More points make for a more exciting game, and the public is in it for the excitement. Of course these two teams have great defenses, and that’s probably why the early “sharp” bettors jumped on the under.

The Super Bowl is dominated by the betting public. It’s the most heavily bet game every year. So many people bet on this game that the so called “expert” bettors only make up a small part of the action. Because of this it’s important to look at each team’s fan base.

San Francisco is a very public team. They’ve been good over the past several years, Quest For Sixthey have a loyal fan base and people like to bet on them. The 49ers have a lot of fans from when they were good in the 90s. People remember the Joe Montana and Steve Young days and will still root for and bet on this team for that reason alone. The 49ers also covered a lot of games vs the spread this year, so they’ve made people a lot of money. Those bettors might continue to bet this team in the Super Bowl.

Baltimore_RavensThe Ravens are hot right now, but they don’t get a lot of support from the betting public. That could be the reason why the 49ers are favored. Of course anything can happen over the next couple of weeks, and we could see more money being bet on the Ravens than the 49ers, especially since they’re underdogs.

These teams match up well. There are coached by two brothers who grew up looking at the game in the same way. Both teams are built to play hard hitting NFL football. They both have good quarterbacks and great defenses. The 49ers have Colin Kaepernick who can run and throw the ball, but is young and inexperienced in the playoffs and the NFL. The Ravens have Joe Flacco who might not have as much raw talent as Kaepernick, but he’s an experienced leader who is used to being in the spotlight.

On defense Baltimore is lead by Ray Lewis. This 16 year veteran is a key part of their RayLewis_Ravens_Super_Bowldefense. Although Wes Welker’s wife may not like him, he’s a true leader on the football field. His experience and defensive play calling should serve the Ravens well on that side of the ball.

Almost $100 million was bet on last year’s Super Bowl in Las Vegas. This is most heavily bet game every year. Experts say that hundreds of millions (maybe even billions) are also bet with offshore sports books and local bookies.

These bets are most on the spread, the money line or the over/under, but there are also hundreds of prop bets offered on the Super Bowl. You can bet on almost anything, from who will win the coin toss to how many yards Kaepernick will run for. For the last several years you could even bet on what color the Gatorade will be that be dumped on the winning coach.

The Las Vegas casinos have only lost on one Super Bowl in the last 10 years. In 2008 bettors gambled $92 million and casinos lost $2.57 million when the New York Giants beat the New England Patriots 17-14. Vegas has won even other year.

Thanks for reading. We’ll be back with an updated guide on How to Bet the Super Bowl and a full list of prop bets soon. Please feel free to contact us with any questions, and as always, good luck!
