Happy Thanksgiving! Let’s bet some football!

Okay, below we have updated odds to win the Super Bowl. By now more than a few teams are completely out of it. Even teams that are mathematically not eliminated, really have no shot in winning. They’re bad teams, that have bad records, so there is really no way that they will come back to make the playoffs let alone win the Super Bowl… Yes, I’m talking to you Giants fans, as well as a number of other teams. Basically if you’re getting 200-1 odds on your team winning the Super Bowl, it’s not even worth a bet. Just bet on someone else and move on 🙂

The odds for today’s games are:

Green Bay Packers +7 (-115)
Detroit Lions -7 (-105)

The Lions are playing right now, and they’re losing 3-10 to Green Bay. If the Packers came win this game, they will still be in pretty good shape the make the playoffs when Aaron Rodgers comes back. On the other side of the ball, the Lions really need this win. It’s their annual Thanksgiving home game, and a lose would be devastating. Not only would it make it harder to make the playoffs in a tough division, it would be really demoralizing to the team and the fan base. Personally, I’m rooting for Detroit to win this one.

Oakland Raiders +9 (-115)
Dallas Cowboys -9 (-105)

The race for the NFC East is pathetic. The Cowboys and the Eagles are leading this division and both teams have looked terrible at times this year. They’re only saving grace is how bad the other teams in this division have played. That said Dallas is a large favorite today, and it understandable why. The Raiders are the Raiders, and not matter what they do, they can’t seem to get it together. I blame their front office for continuously making terrible personal decisions. So Dallas is the expected to win today by more than a touchdown, and they seems very realistic to me. Of course, it you are an Eagles fan you’re hoping for a huge upset today.

Pittsburgh Steelers +3 (-125)
Baltimore Ravens -3 (+105)

Last year’s Super Bowl winners are playing the last game of the night, and boy is this a different team from last year. They are under 500, and while their defense is still the strength of the team, they haven’t been able to establish the run game much at all this season. It’s probably the offensive lines fault, but Ray Rice is taking most of the heat, especially in fantasy football leagues. Speaking of fantasy football, have you seen how well Antonio Brown playing this year? He’s putting up some huge numbers. Who would have guessed. It’s probably because the Steelers can’t run this ball this year either, so they are throwing it.

Well, that’s enough for now. We’re still a few months out from the next Super Bowl in New Jersey (or are people saying New York?). Either way it should be a good one. It would have been cool to see either the Jets or Giants play in it, but it doesn’t look like that is going to happen.

By the way, did you know that they just legalized online gambling in New Jersey. That’s awesome. Next we need them to legalize sports betting in Atlantic City. Then we’ll finally be on pare with Europe.

Have a great holiday and thanks for stopping by!
