The NFL Combine, the NFL Draft and offseason Super Bowl news

I don’t think there are many surprises coming out of the NFL combine. The biggest one might be wide receiver Michael Floyd who is 6’3”, 225 pounds and ran a 4.47 forty. Supposedly he really impressed in his interviews as well, so he has definitely increased his draft value.

We we disappointed that Robert Griffin III didn’t throw any passes this week, but we have seen him do it a lot throughout his college career. RG3 is a great pocket passer and he will go #2 in the draft after Andrew Luck.

We’re not sure which team will draft RG3. The Rams currently hold the 2nd first round draft pick, but they don’t need a quarterback and are expected to trade it. Right now everyone seems to think that Cleveland will trade for the pick and that Washington and the Miami Dolphins are also interested.

Super Bowl News –

Indianapolis’s mayor Greg Ballard wants to host the Super Bowl again soon! His argument is that the city did such a good job this time around that they deserve to host the game again in the near future.

We don’t disagree. We were not there, but everything we heard coming out of Indianapolis was very positive. The city was nice and clean. The hotels were very close to each other and the stadium which made it easy for the teams and press to move around and cover the event.

Next year’s Super Bowl will be in New Orleans and will coincide with Mardi Gras. That should be a very interesting scene. NFL fans and Mardi Gras partiers sharing the city for the week will definitely make hotel room prices sky rocket. I hope by team makes it to the Super Bowl, but I don’t know if I’ll be able to travel to New Orleans to see them play. If they do make it, I might have to just bet the game and watch it from home (like any other year).

We brought you the updated odds for the 2013 Super Bowl in New Orleans a few weeks ago, not much has changed since then. The NFL combine has allowed a few rookies to demonstrate their worth, but since the NFL draft has not happened, we still don’t much team they will end up on, with the exception of Andrew Luck who we all know is going to Indianapolis. Of course, the interesting thing now is that Indy is going to cut Peyton Manning since they’ll be drafting Luck, and another team will be able to sign him. Whichever team signs Manning will have a legitimate shot at winning the Super Bowl, and their odds are going to change overnight.
