The NFL Super Bowl is 55 days away, but you can bet it now!

It’s hard to believe that it’s week 15 in the NFL already. It’s the middle of most people’s fantasy football playoffs, Christmas is less than 2 weeks away and the Super Bowl is less than two months away! We have updated Super Bowl odds from the Bovada Online Sportsbook below, and this week has some great games to bet on too!

Last night we saw the Atlanta Falcons take care of business. If you bet on them, it was an easy cover. They certainly look ready for the playoffs.

One of the most interesting games this weekend is between the New England Patriots and the Denver Broncos. The Broncos had a big test playing the New York Jets a few weeks ago, but this will definitely be their toughest games since Tim Tebow became their starting quarterback.

Surprisingly as of now the Patriots are the second most heavily bet team to win the Super Bowl. It’s surprising because they don’t even have the best record in the AFC. Both the Baltimore Ravens and the Pittsburgh Steelers have better records and some would say better teams. I guess bettors are favoring New England now because the Ravens and the Steelers play in the same division, so one of those teams will end up being a wildcard. Whoever is the wildcard will need to play and extra playoff game and not have home field advantage to get the Super Bowl.

The Pittsburgh Steelers have a tough match up this weekend. They are San Francisco 49ers at home on Monday night. If you wanted to bet on this game, the 49ers are currently giving 2.5 points. If you want to bet on the Ravens, they are about 2.5 points favorites this weekend too. Based just on the betting odds, you would this that Baltimore would win and the Steelers would lose, so Baltimore will probably win the division. The San Francisco 49ers are a great team, so this could easily happen.

You could also bet on the Houston Texans winning this weekend. They are a solid team, and they are giving 7 points at home to a Carolina team that has no shot at going to the playoffs or the Super Bowl this year. Watch out for Cam Newton next year though! The Panthers could rebound in 2012.

Two teams in the NFC East are still fighting for the division. The Dallas Cowboys play Saturday night and the New York Giants play on Sunday. Right now they’re tied for the division lead, so every game counts for each team’s Super Bowl hopes. You can bet on who will win the division, and with these two teams, either one easily can.

If you want to bet on the 2012 Super Bowl, the odds are list below. There are crazy odds on a few teams, and these are the ones that are very close to being eliminated, but haven’t been yet. The only teams that I would bet on are the Green Bay Packers, New England Patriots, New Orleans Saints, Baltimore Ravens, Pittsburgh Steelers, San Francisco 49ers, Houston Texans, Denver Broncos, New York Giants, Atlanta Falcons, New York Jets, Dallas Cowboys, and maybe the Detroit Lions. At this point in the game, betting on any other team is like throwing your money away. Of course, there are some people who like to take these long shots, so sports books will let you bet on them, but I personally would not.

Odds to win the 2012 Super Bowl XLVI
Green Bay Packers 3/2
New England Patriots 9/2
New Orleans Saints 13/2
Baltimore Ravens 9/1
Pittsburgh Steelers 10/1
San Francisco 49ers 16/1
Houston Texans 18/1
Denver Broncos 25/1
New York Giants 25/1
Atlanta Falcons 30/1
New York Jets 35/1
Dallas Cowboys 40/1
Detroit Lions 65/1
San Diego Chargers 65/1
Philadelphia Eagles 125/1
Chicago Bears 150/1
Oakland Raiders 150/1
Tennessee Titans 200/1
Cincinnati Bengals 250/1
Seattle Seahawks 300/1
