MLB All-Star Betting

So the MBL All-Star Game is a “Super Bowl like event”. At least that’s what MBL is trying to do in NYC this week. With the All-Star FanFest, Homerun Derby, the parade, and all the other events that are planned in New York this week above and beyond the All-Star Game, baseball has really trying to turn this into a week long celebration of America’s favorite past time. All I think they’re doing it. This event is great of the game and great for NYC.

So after all the hype around the All-Star game, I had to look at betting it online. I usually just bet football and the Super Bowl online, but what the hell, I can put a bet on one of baseball’s most exciting week. Unfortunately no odds are posted yet for this game since the teams haven’t been finalized yet. If you want to bet this game, I would look for the betting lines to come out tomorrow or the next day.

The American League will be heavily favored, and they should be. With the closer talent that they are bring to the All-Star game, I’m expecting them not to give up a single run for the 5th inning on. So basically, the AL has 4 or 5 more innings of at bats to score runs, and they shouldn’t have much of a problem.

Betting stats show that the American League has dominated the All-Star game recently. In the last 10 games, thay are 9-0-1 with the only All-Star game tie in history in 02.

4 of the last 6 All-Star games betting results have gone over the total, 14 runs in 02, 13 in 03, 13 in 04 and 12 in 05. The 06 game ended 3-2 and last year score was 5-4.
