Some 1st round draft picks will end up playing in the Super Bowl

Below we list the players that went in the first round of the 2008 NFL draft. You bet on seeing a few of these guys starting in the next Super Bowl. Probably some second rounders too. Hell, Tom Brady was drafted in the 6th round, so any of the guys joining the NFL this weekend could make it to Tampa Bay.

31 NY Giants Kenny Phillips FS

The Super Bowl champions drafted Kenny Phillips, University of Miami safety, with the 31st pick overall. This is good news for both the Giants and the U of Miami. This was the first year in a while that Miami wasn’t projected to have any players drafted into the NFL in the 1st round, but Phillips got them there. Apparently, New York like him to begin with and didn’t should him much attention before the draft, downplaying their interest. Phillips is reportedly very happy to be playing for the Super Champs.
