There are some big favorites this weekend. The spread on three of the four games is a touchdown or more. The Saturday games both have big lines with the Saints traveling to Seattle and the Colts heading to New England. The biggest spread this weekend is Sunday night’s game where the Denver Broncos are favored by 9 over the San Diego Chargers.
Team | Line/Spread | Over/Under | Over/Under Odds |
---|---|---|---|
New Orleans Saints | +8 (-115) | 46½ | (-110)o |
Seattle Seahawks | -8 (-105) | (-110)u |
Seattle has been destroying teams at home this year. The last time these two teams met the Seahawks won 34-7. Seattle is also the current favorite to win the Super Bowl, so you can see why Vegas set this line at over a touchdown.
Meanwhile the Saints have more recent playoff experience, and they just won the Super Bowl in 2009. The New Orleans Saints Super Bowl odds are 14/1.
Team | Line/Spread | Over/Under | Over/Under Odds |
---|---|---|---|
Indianapolis Colts | +7½ (-130) | 52½ | (-110)o |
New England Patriots | -7½ (+110) | (-110)u |
The Patriots seem to be in the playoffs every year. As usually, they are tested and ready to make another Super Bowl run. Meanwhile the Colts are relying on a second year quarterback to keep their playoff run alive. With this spread, it’s hard to pick which team will cover, but it’s easy to see why the Pats are favored here.
Team | Line/Spread | Over/Under | Over/Under Odds |
---|---|---|---|
San Francisco 49ers | -3 (+125) | 42 | (-110)o |
Carolina Panthers | +3 (-145) | (-110)u |
The 49ers lost last year’s Super Bowl, but they’re right back in the playoffs and making another run for it. (Where are last year’s winners, the Baltimore Ravens right now?) They are favored over the Carolina Panthers making the Cam Newton and company and interesting home, underdog bet this week. The over/under is moving between 41 and 42. Personally I like the under this week, as defense is both teams strength. The last time they played, the total for the game was 19.
Team | Line/Spread | Over/Under | Over/Under Odds |
---|---|---|---|
San Diego Chargers | +9 | 55 | (-110)o |
Denver Broncos | -9 | (-110)u |
The Denver Broncos are the biggest favorite of the weekend. Sunday night Peyton Manning and crew take on the San Diego Chargers in Denver. Is season the Broncos beat the Chargers once in San Diego (28-20) and lost to them once at home (27-20). Both games were closer than 9 points (the current spead) and both games were under 54-55 point (the current over/under). If you’re interested in betting on this game, you should consider those two facts.
There are a number of prop bets offered on this weekend’s action, but we aren’t going to get into them all here. If you’re interested in seeing a full list, check out our #1 recommended sports book as it always has a big list of prop bets.
Since the Super Bowl is last then a month away, we’re expecting to get a lot of traffic soon from people trying to figure out how to bet on the Super Bowl in America and online. This is the time of year when we get the most new visitors. (Most people are not very interested in Superbowl odds in the middle of April for instance.) It might sound strange, but now that we’re in the middle of the NFL playoffs, now is the time that Super Bowl betting and football betting really starts to pick up. In our experience, it’s usually driven by fans of the teams that are still in the playoffs that have never bet on football before. Since their favorite team has a shot at the NFL championship, they’re now trying to figure out how to bet on the Super Bowl winner.
That is where this site comes in. For years we’ve been ranking the best online Sports Book for betting on the Super Bowl, and we’ll be doing it again this year. We usually don’t discuss which Las Vegas Sports Books are the best, but if you’re heading out to Vegas, you can’t go wrong with the sports book at the Hilton. They usually have good odds, and offer the most prop bets in Vegas.
That’s all for now. Thanks for visiting. We hope to have answered all your Super Bowl betting questions, but if we haven’t, please feel free to contact us on Twitter. We’ll be sure to get to you soon.
