A lot of people have asked us what team we bet to win the Super Bowl. Well we don’t make that information public, but believe me we’ve placed than just a bet or two. After this weekend’s games when the Super Bowl teams are determined, there was will literally hundreds of different bets that you can make on this game. You can bet the coin toss, the first TD, the first interception, the Super Bowl MVP… the list of Super Bowl bets goes on and on every year. You should even be able to bet on the singing of the Star Spangled Banner and the halftime show. If there is one event that the Las Vegas sports books love, it’s the Super Bowl.
Right now we’ll look at potential Super Bowl match ups. The first one we’ll look at is the San Francisco 49ers vs. the New England Patriots. These are this weekend’s favorites, so if Las Vegas is right, these two teams are the most likely to meet in the Super Bowl. This would be a great match up between Tom Brady and the Patriots awesome offense against the one of the best defenses in the league. Tom Brady has already been to the Super Bowl 4 times and he’s won it 3 times. Would you bet on him doing it again? Or would you rather bet on Alex Smith, Michael Turner and the incredible 49ers defense to win this Super Bowl match-up? This game would draw huge ratings, and it’d be great to have teams from both coasts playing on Super Bowl Sunday.
The next match up would be the New York Giants vs. the New England Patriots. This would be a rematch of the 2007 Super Bowl were the Giants beat and undefeated Patriots team. This match up would put the two best quarterbacks still in the playoffs into the Super Bowl. Tom Brady vs Eli Manning. According to Bloomberg.com, this matchup in the Super Bowl might become the most-watched show in the history of U.S. television. Brady’s will be supported by a cast of offensive weapons in teammates Rob Gronkowski, Deion Branch, Aaron Hernandez, Wes Welker and BenJarvus Green-Ellis. Eli Manning’s best offensive weapons include Hakeem Nicks, Victor Cruz, Mario Manningham, Ahmad Bradshaw, and Brandon Jacobs.
The third most likely Super Bowl (according to the odds makers) would be a match-up between the San Francisco 49ers vs. the Baltimore Ravens. This could be a great one because the Harbaugh family, Jim Harbaugh coaches the 49ers while John Harbaugh coaches the Ravens. Meanwhile Ray Rive will probably be the biggest football star on the field. The Ravens quarterback is Joe Flacco, and he’s not exactly star material. The same can be said for the 49ers QB Alex Smith. Flacco will be supported not only by Ray Rice, and also be team mates Ricky Williams, Anquan Boldin, Lee Evans and Torrey Smith. Alex Smith will be handling off and throwing to Michael Turner, Vernon Davis, Michael Crabtree, Kendall Hunter and David Akers. Baltimore also has some star power on defense with the likes on Ed Reed and Ray Lewis.
The least likely Super Bowl matchup that you can bet on is the New York Giants vs. the Baltimore Ravens. Neither of these teams are favored to win this weekend, and most people will be betting on one of both of them losing. The odds on the Giants/San Fran game actually opened as even, and so many gamblers bet on the 49ers right away that the Las Vegas sports books has to adjust the spread to the 49ers minus 2.5. That said, we wouldn’t mind seeing this match up. This would be an interesting rematch from the 2001 Super Bowl were the Ravens beat the Giants and easily covered the Spread. Interestingly that was one of the first Supers Bowl that you could bet online. Now you can bet almost anything online especially the Super Bowl.
