After this weekend there are only 4 NFL teams left in their quest to win the 2010 Super Bowl. It looks like the Colts are currently heavily favorites, probably because they are playing the Jets this weekend. The Odds show that the the betting community definitely think the Jets are the longest shot to win the Super Bowl. As I said yesterday, if you want to bet the Jets to win the Super Bowl, do it now. Every week they win, their odds keep getting better (or worse for the bettors). The odds on the Jets were 50-1 to win the Super Bowl before the playoffs started. I bet you wish you bet on them then.
Player prop bets for this coming weekend aren’t up yet, but the spreads for the games are. As expected, the Colts are heavy favorites over the Jets. Indy’s playing at home, and we leading the Jets the last time these teams met before the Colts pulled Manning and other starters to rest them for the playoffs. With the Colts’ starters on the bench, New York rallied that game and won. They then beat Cincy the next week to make it into the playoffs. A lot of people think that if the Colts didn’t pull their starters, they would have won that game and could have gone undefeated all season.
The Saints are also favored over the Vikings this weekend. This spread is a little tighter since both are considered good teams. I’m still a little surprised that the spread in at 4.5. I thought the Vikings would be getting more respect than that especially after having just beat up on Dallas. Although I really like this Saints team, I might have to bet Minny this week. I’ve listed the specific spreads for this weeks games below:
NFL PLAYOFFS – CHAMPIONSHIP ROUND
New York Jets +8 (-115)
Indianapolis Colts -8 (-105)
NFL PLAYOFFS – CHAMPIONSHIP ROUND
Minnesota Vikings +4½
New Orleans Saints -4½
So that’s all I got so far for this weekend’s games, but not bets will be up this week. If you can’t wait for me to update, just look around a few online sports books to see what they are offering. Most offer various props, but a few sports books are better than others. Many online sportsbooks even offer better more prop bets than Las Vegas sportsbooks do. Just another reason to bet the NFL Super Bowl online.

It’s going to be an interesting weekend in Miami for sure. South Beach is so much fun and close to the stadium. Last time the Super Bowl was down there, Miami was covered in NFL fans. I’m sure it will be again this year. So which team will have the most fans, and the most fun fans?
The Super Bowl will be during Mardi Gras in New Orleans this year, so if the Saints go, I’m sure their fans will be partying Mardi Gras style in Miami. New Orleans is also the closes team to South Beach, so I would expect their to be plenty of Saints fans there. Of course, New Orleans will be in the middle of Mardi Gras, so maybe fans would go to Miami than normal due to the holiday.
I’m sure that New Yorkers know how to party. And unlike New Orleans, there is not reason to stay home Super Bowl weekend. Also I’m sure Miami, Florida would be a great change of weather for anyone living in the North East this time of year.
The last time the Indianapolis Colts won the Super Bowl, the Super Bowl was in Miami. I was there, and I have to say, I saw a lot more Bears fans than Colts fans there. I’m sure people in Indy would love to take a trip to South Beach, but I wouldn’t bet that they would make the trip. Especially since their team just won the Super Bowl a few years ago. While the other teams are starving for a Super Bowl win, the Colts probably aren’t all that desperate.
Minnesota fans could definitely use a trip to Miami. I’ve been to Minny this time of year, and trust me, it’s really cold. Vikings fans seem to be a really devoted group too. If I had to bet, I would bet that there would be a lot of Vikings fans in Miami if they made it to the Super Bowl.
I’m sure a lot of these fans will also be betting on the Super Bowl. Unfortunately, not everyone can get to Las Vegas, so I think most will be betting online. Super Bowl betting is a past time in our country. The Super Bowl is the most heavily bet game of the year, in the whole world. There are people in Europe and Africa and Asia betting on the Super Bowl. It’s really incredible how truly big this game is. It’s gotta be the biggest event in spots, maybe only surpassed by the Fifa World Cup. But the World Cup only happens once every 4 years. The Super Bowl is every year.
