Well, the Colts and the Saints won yesterday, nothing unusual about that.I wouldn’t be surprised to see both on those teams face off in the 2010 Super Bowl.
The odds have dropped on these teams winning the Big Game. The Indianapolis Colts are now 2-1. The New Orleans Saints are currently 5/2 to win the NFL Super Bowl. If you want to bet either of these teams, I would do it today because if any of the dogs win today, the odds on those teams will probably drop. (I posted the current Super Bowl odds on all teams below)
Anyway, betting on the Super Bowl is almost a nation past time. This is the most heavily bet game a year, and it’s only second in Las Vegas to the first weekend of March Madness. The main difference is that there is only 1 Super Bowl, but there are 32 March Madness games.
Las Vegas will be full of football fans for Super Bowl weekend, but same with Miami. I was in Miami for the last Super Bowl that the Colts won, and it was crazy. I stayed on South Beach, and football stands were set up, up and down the beach. ESPN was broadcasting live from South Beach all week. I watched sports center, Mike and Mike in the morning and a few other shows, just walking down the strip. That Super Bowl was between the Bears and the colts. I have to say that I say a lot for Bears fans there that week than Indy fans.
Miami is a great place to have the NFL Super Bowl. After all saying “I’m going to the Super Bowl in Miami.” sounds a lot better than saying, “I’m going to the Super Bowl in Detroit.” Miami is a fun and warm city. The NFL tries to hold the Super Bowl in Southern cities, as that it is warm for the game. I don’t blame them. It’s a good idea.
But not only is Miami warm, it’s fun. South Beach, clubs, bars, women in thongs. It’s a hell of a lot better than Arizona or Houston or Indianapolis. Maybe New Orleans can compare, but there is something about Miami that makes me think it can’t. South Florida in February. Can anything be better?
BTW I just googled the Super Bowl in Miami and saw an article titles 2010 Super Bowl Picks, NFL Playoff Predictions & NFL Betting Schedule?, so I clicked on it. The article was very short and not very good, but it did pick the Colts to win the Super Bowl. I just thought I would throw this in here…
Today the Dallas Cowboys play the Minnesota Vikings. The spread is the Vikings minus three. Also the New York Jets play the San Diego Charges with that spread now up to the Charges minus 8. The spread in the second game has really move around this week. San Diego opened as a 9 point favorite, and all the sharp bettor bet the Jets. There was so much action on the game that the spread dropped to minus 7 yesterday. I guess the public starting betting the Charges heavy yesterday, because the spread is now back to minus 8.
The Sharp bettors also could have started betting San Diego yesterday hoping to middle the game. Sharps can middle a game when the spread moves (like in this game). Often when the line first opens and the sharp bettors don’t agree with it, they’ll bet one side hard, like they bet on the Jets earlier this week. This causes the spread to move, like this one moved to 7. When the line move, the sharp bettors will often bet the other side for the chance of winning both bets. If they did this this weekend, they would have the Jets plus 9 and the Charges minus 7. This way if the Charges win by 8, they win both bets. They are also guaranteed not to lose both bets. The most they can lose is 1 bet, but they can win 2. Not bad…
A lot of people bet on the Super Bowl in Las Vegas, but even more people bet the NFL Super Bowl online. Betting online is so easy, and if you live in most parts of America where betting on the NFL is not legal, it’s a lot easier to turn on the computer to place a bet, then hope on a plane and fly to Las Vegas. You can usually find a lot better odds online than you can in Las Vegas. Online you can shop for best the odds with ease just be visiting different websites. In Las Vegas, you would have to walk or drive from one sportsbook to another just to see the odds. Then, if you want to go back to a certain sportsbook to place a bet, the odds could have changed by the time you get back there. These are just some of the reasons of the why I prefer to bet the NFL online.
As I promised earlier, I’ve posted updated odds for this year’s NFL Super Bowl below. These odds can be found at the BoDog Sportsbook online. BoDog is not only a sportsbook, but also an online casino and poker room.
