After drafting Darren McFadden, the Raiders gave Dominic Rhodes the boot. The was do to make $1.75m this year, and wasn’t to good last year. By dropping him, the Raiders open up some room in the salary cap for McFadden and the rest of the team. Rhodes also missed 4 weeks last year for being suspended for violating the NFL substance abuse policy.
The Super Bowl champs had a good draft, even with the last pick in the NFL draft. I’m not so sure about the other New York team. The Jets took Vernon Gholston in the first round. Was this a risky move? Everyone seem to think so. I can;t tell you how many times today I’ve read, “There might not be a player with Gholston’s upside in the entire draft.” BUT “There are concerns about whether he really likes the game.” This has to be bull. Who DOESN’T like football?
