Another slow sports day…

These days around the MBL All-Star game are some of the slowest sports day’s of the year. Nothing to watch, nothing to bet, almost nothing to do…

Football news: The Vikings are talking to Brett Favre and the Packers don’t like it. Apparently, Green Bay thinks that Minny was “tampering” with their all-star, retired/unretired quarterback by trying to negotiate with his agent for Favre to go play with the Vikings. The Vikings are denying this, and now it’s back in Green Bay’s court to provide evidence. Anyway, these teams are hated rivals, so I really doubt that Favre would have gone to Minnesota, but you never know.

Politics? BJ Lawson is running for congress in North Carolina, and the only reason I care is because he is a big advocate for internet freedom (which is great for online gamblers). Over the last couple of days, more and more internet gambling sites have been picking up on him, so I felt like I should mention him here. If you interested, check out the posts at the Online Sports Bettor and Gambling911.

Nothing too exciting tonight going on in the baseball world, and nothing much new in Super Bowl news either… The Cowboys want to win, blah, blah, blah… I’ll let know when something really happens.

So I’ll probably be back tomorrow. I’m still trying to get that quote off my homepage, so I’ll be writing.

Late games going too late

I live on the East Coast, I’m a regular working guy and I was trying to watch the All Star game to the end, and just couldn’t do it. Of course, it going 15 innings was a part of the problem, but it started so damn late. Like all the Monday night football games, and even the Super Bowl is starting later now. This East coaster hates it! F the west coast, they need to start games earlier.

Anyway, the AL won the game last night. I should bet the sports bettor’s pick, but I couldn’t resist the odds on the NL. You have to figure that 2 teams of All Stars match up pretty good, so why not take the odds on the underdog. Well, I did and they matched up really well, but I still lost… Damn National League. Why do I have to be a Braves fan? Always the brides maid.

Anyway, another day of posting and I figure that I’m another day closer to getting off of google’s filter. I’m scared of that thing and all blogs should be. Don’t quote anything or your homepage with disappear!

Yahoo hasn’t been too kind to this site either recently. I used to rank number 1 for – bet the nfl super bowl – in it’s search. Now I’m number 2, and off the front page for simply – bet the super bowl. Anyway, I’m sure that I’ll make a come back my the big game, or at least, I’ll try. Hey, working hard is what matters, right? Anyway, I really regret deleting half this site a few months ago. Anyway, new content is new content. You can’t live with regrets, so I just have to do my best to get this site back up there and move up.

So good luck with all your baseball and NFL futures betting. I’ll be back soon.

203 days left until the Super Bowl

And this site has disappeared from google of the phrase – bet the nfl super bowl. Are you kidding me?!?!?

I figure that it’s google’s duplicate content tool working over time, if you look at my last 6th and 8th posted which are currently still on my homepage, I quoted a few items from some news sites. I think that google probably picked those up and flagged my site as having duplicate content… And that’s incredible. Out of hundreds of words typed on this page, google is smart enough to pick up 10 or 20 or 50 in a row and know that these exact same words are on another page somewhere on the internet.

Google then determines that the other page was the author of these words, then decides that I stole these words, and they penalize my site by removing it from the search results. At least I think that this is how it works.

Anyway, I’m really glad that I learned this now, still over 200 days from the Super Bowl, so I’ll be sure not to quote anything on this site again! I bet that if you have a website, you won’t either.

Sometimes these search engine are brutal. Anyway, enjoy the rest of the Homerun Derby, bet on the American League tomorrow and thank me later.

Updated All Star Odds

I’m currently watching the All Star Homerun Derby… and I have the odds of the 2008 MLB All Star Game!

The odds are from BoDog.

National League All Stars +1½ (-155) +125
American League All Stars -1½ (+135) -145

The over under is 10 runs.

Personally, I think that the American League is a great bet. They haven’t lost in 10 years, and they have a lot of quality closers on the roster. I would bet them either on the run line or the money line… I think that I’m going to bet the money line though… I don’t mind paying a little more for a run and a half.

Away, I’m going to go and watch the rest of the Homerun Derby. No football talk today!

Good Luck and thanks for stopping by!

MLB All-Star Betting

So the MBL All-Star Game is a “Super Bowl like event”. At least that’s what MBL is trying to do in NYC this week. With the All-Star FanFest, Homerun Derby, the parade, and all the other events that are planned in New York this week above and beyond the All-Star Game, baseball has really trying to turn this into a week long celebration of America’s favorite past time. All I think they’re doing it. This event is great of the game and great for NYC.

So after all the hype around the All-Star game, I had to look at betting it online. I usually just bet football and the Super Bowl online, but what the hell, I can put a bet on one of baseball’s most exciting week. Unfortunately no odds are posted yet for this game since the teams haven’t been finalized yet. If you want to bet this game, I would look for the betting lines to come out tomorrow or the next day.

The American League will be heavily favored, and they should be. With the closer talent that they are bring to the All-Star game, I’m expecting them not to give up a single run for the 5th inning on. So basically, the AL has 4 or 5 more innings of at bats to score runs, and they shouldn’t have much of a problem.

Betting stats show that the American League has dominated the All-Star game recently. In the last 10 games, thay are 9-0-1 with the only All-Star game tie in history in 02.

4 of the last 6 All-Star games betting results have gone over the total, 14 runs in 02, 13 in 03, 13 in 04 and 12 in 05. The 06 game ended 3-2 and last year score was 5-4.

Eli Manning hasn’t changed

Payton Manning has said that his brother’s Super Bowl wins last year hasn’t changed him. Interesting. Lets take a quick look at Eli’s last year…

Eli Manning won a Super Bowl, the biggest game in the NFL. This is a major accomplishment and something that he will always be known for. His football career and legacy has already been made as he will always be a Super Bowl winning quarterback. How will this effect his confidence next year? I think it goes up. His press will be better, and even though he says that he doesn’t read his own press (and that’s a great thing), other people do and often judge him on what they read. So his press will be better, he’ll get more respect from reporters and fans, and he already has 1 ring to fall back on.

Eli Manning got married this offseason. That’s right. The guy was single, won the Super Bowl, and still married his college sweatheart. You’ve got to respect that… I think. Either he is really smart, and they are happy for the rest of their lives. OR he is a complete idiot, they be divorced in 10 years, and Eli missed out on some great pussy getting years. Especially this summer.

He won the Super Bowl! He can walk into any bar in NYC and get laid in a matter of minutes. Well, I hope he’s happy, and yeah, I guess he didn’t change in this respect.

Eli also visited the White House (with the rest of the Giants), golfed at St. Andrews and went to Louisiana this week to take part in the same football camp his family has hosted for 13 years. Yeah, not much change there either…

214 days until the next Super Bowl

Wow. writing the number of days really makes me realize how far away the Super Bowl really is… Damn why am I even writing about it? it’s over 200 days away!

Anyway, I figure I can at least talk about super bowl bets and odds.

Currently the Odds for Super Bowl XLIII are down at BoDog? That sucks! Now I don’t know what I’m going to write…

Anyway, the last I looked, I thought that the Dallas Cowboys were a good bet to win the big game. I also read today that some people wouldn’t be surprised if the San Diego Charges won the Super Bowl… Betting on them is currently at +750. Not too bad.

Why would the Chargers win… well, the underlying reason was that the AFC is stronger than the NFC. The Chargers are a strong team in the AFC and have a good shot at winning the conference, and then of course the AFC will beat the NFC in the NFL Super Bowl… That’s a lot of acronyms.

Anyway, if you don’t agree with that rational, I wouldn’t blame you. I don’t think it’s very sound. I’m not betting the Chargers, and I’m not too sure that the AFC is better than the NFC. Hello New York Giants.

Anyway, not much else to write. I’m probably be back soon, but with 214 days left until Super Bowl XLIII, you knows :O)

I’ve been neglecting the “Bet the NFL Super Bowl” site

And I can’t say that is going to stop. I mean it’s summer time and months away from the regular NFL season and more than 6 months away from the Super Bowl. How much Football can a guy write in the off season? Well thank god for Dom “dumb ass” Imus.

On this morning’s show, Imus & Co. were discussing suspended Dallas Cowboys corner back Adam “Pacman” Jones, who wants to drop his nickname. During the segment, one of his cohorts (perhaps Warner Wolfe?) tells Imus that Jones has “been arrested six times since being drafted by Tennessee in 2005.” Asks Imus: “What color is he?” Response: “He’s African-American.” You know where this is going.Concludes Imus: “Well, there you go. Now we know.”

Haha. Gotta love good old boy Imus for being the stupid racist that he is. I guess going up during slavery will do that to ya. I mean is the guy senile or what. It was less than a year ago that he got kicked off the air for saying racist sh!t about the Rutgers girls Basketball team and now he’s back saying more garbage…

Anyway, I don’t know why so many people care, and I can’t believe that that many people listen. I mean Howard Stern says a lot worse things on the air, probably to more listeners, and no one says boo. Old ass Imus says 2 remarks and it;s front page news… what a weird f-ed up world we live it.

Anyway, Pacman will always be Pacman to me… and probably the rest of the sports world as well. Sorry Jones, you don;t have the juice like Puffy does to just up and change your name and have people listen. Too bad, too sad you yellow pie chart looking thing (reference to the original Pacman).

Does the NFL cheat like the NBA?

I remember watching Super Bowl XL (Seahawks vs Steelers) and thinking that the game was rigged by the NFL. That was the day that I started doubting that the NFL was really a pure football league where players and coaches decided the outcome of games. I started to think that the NFL was more for show, like the WWE or Boxing.

I know that I’m not the only one that lost a little faith in the NFL that day. Fans were outraged the next day on bulliten boards across the internet and talk radio shows across the country. The Seahawks own coach said that they did not lose to the Steelers, they lost to the refs.

So how can the refs decide the fate of the Super Bowl and there be no repercussions? Probably because the right team won. The team the NFL wanted to win. The Steelers with the pride and history, in the Bus’s last year, winning as a underdog all through the playoffs. The team with the better market and the better story.

Since then, I’ve picked up on things I’ve heard around the league. Chad Johnson for instances saying the he is not a football player. That he hasn’t played football since college. Now he is an entertainer.

A guy I know is a sports writer for a major paper, and he tells me that all sports are fixed. Not just boxing. Not just the NBA or the NFL. All sports like hockey, like baseball, like soccer. Now I know he has to be generalizing. I’m sure that the World Cup isn’t fixed, and I’m sure that most sports games aren’t fixed, but I can see what he is talking about.

It makes me lose a little faith in the games that I watch, but if you can decide who the NFL wants to win the Super Bowl each year, and bet the right way, you could probably make some good money.
