Only 32 days until the 2012 Super Bowl!

What a good ending to the NFL’s regular season, and the NFL playoffs are starting this weekend! There were some great games last weekend with some exciting endings to the NFL regular season.

The New York Giants won and they are in the playoffs with a shot at the Super Bowl! Think they can win it all? You can bet on them to win the Super Bowl today at 18 to 1 odds. So if you bet $100 on the Giants to win the Super Bowl, and they won, you would win $1,800. Not bad!

Of course the Green Bay Packers are the favorites to win the Super Bowl. If you wanted to bet on them, the odds are 9 to 5. That means that if you bet $100 on them to win the Super Bowl, and they did you would win $180. That’s ten times less than you would win if you bet on the Giant to win it all. Still they the Packers are a great team, so that very well could be the best bet on the board.

The other top bet teams to win the Super Bowl are the New England Patriots, the New Orleans Saints, the Baltimore Ravens, the Pittsburgh Steelers and the San Francisco 49ers. The Patriots are the favorites out of the AFC. It makes sense because they have the best record in their conference.

The Steelers are also an interesting bet. Right now you can bet them at 11 to 1 to win the Super Bowl. They are one of the top six teams that people have bet on, and they are a wildcard team. That means that they have to win 3 playoff games on the road in order to get to the NFL Super Bowl. That will be tough. Pittsburgh is a good team, and this point, I wouldn’t risk my money and bet the Super Bowl with them. I would need to see them win one or two playoff games first.

All you Tim Tebow fans can current bet on the Denver Broncos to win the Super Bowl at 50 to 1. So if you bet $100 and they win the big game, you’ll win $5,000! That’s a great day. If there are any other teams that you would like to bet on, we have all the team’s Super Bowl odds listed below.

The NFL Super Bowl is 55 days away, but you can bet it now!

It’s hard to believe that it’s week 15 in the NFL already. It’s the middle of most people’s fantasy football playoffs, Christmas is less than 2 weeks away and the Super Bowl is less than two months away! We have updated Super Bowl odds from the Bovada Online Sportsbook below, and this week has some great games to bet on too!

Last night we saw the Atlanta Falcons take care of business. If you bet on them, it was an easy cover. They certainly look ready for the playoffs.

One of the most interesting games this weekend is between the New England Patriots and the Denver Broncos. The Broncos had a big test playing the New York Jets a few weeks ago, but this will definitely be their toughest games since Tim Tebow became their starting quarterback.

Surprisingly as of now the Patriots are the second most heavily bet team to win the Super Bowl. It’s surprising because they don’t even have the best record in the AFC. Both the Baltimore Ravens and the Pittsburgh Steelers have better records and some would say better teams. I guess bettors are favoring New England now because the Ravens and the Steelers play in the same division, so one of those teams will end up being a wildcard. Whoever is the wildcard will need to play and extra playoff game and not have home field advantage to get the Super Bowl.

The Pittsburgh Steelers have a tough match up this weekend. They are San Francisco 49ers at home on Monday night. If you wanted to bet on this game, the 49ers are currently giving 2.5 points. If you want to bet on the Ravens, they are about 2.5 points favorites this weekend too. Based just on the betting odds, you would this that Baltimore would win and the Steelers would lose, so Baltimore will probably win the division. The San Francisco 49ers are a great team, so this could easily happen.

You could also bet on the Houston Texans winning this weekend. They are a solid team, and they are giving 7 points at home to a Carolina team that has no shot at going to the playoffs or the Super Bowl this year. Watch out for Cam Newton next year though! The Panthers could rebound in 2012.

Two teams in the NFC East are still fighting for the division. The Dallas Cowboys play Saturday night and the New York Giants play on Sunday. Right now they’re tied for the division lead, so every game counts for each team’s Super Bowl hopes. You can bet on who will win the division, and with these two teams, either one easily can.

If you want to bet on the 2012 Super Bowl, the odds are list below. There are crazy odds on a few teams, and these are the ones that are very close to being eliminated, but haven’t been yet. The only teams that I would bet on are the Green Bay Packers, New England Patriots, New Orleans Saints, Baltimore Ravens, Pittsburgh Steelers, San Francisco 49ers, Houston Texans, Denver Broncos, New York Giants, Atlanta Falcons, New York Jets, Dallas Cowboys, and maybe the Detroit Lions. At this point in the game, betting on any other team is like throwing your money away. Of course, there are some people who like to take these long shots, so sports books will let you bet on them, but I personally would not.

Odds to win the 2012 Super Bowl XLVI
Green Bay Packers 3/2
New England Patriots 9/2
New Orleans Saints 13/2
Baltimore Ravens 9/1
Pittsburgh Steelers 10/1
San Francisco 49ers 16/1
Houston Texans 18/1
Denver Broncos 25/1
New York Giants 25/1
Atlanta Falcons 30/1
New York Jets 35/1
Dallas Cowboys 40/1
Detroit Lions 65/1
San Diego Chargers 65/1
Philadelphia Eagles 125/1
Chicago Bears 150/1
Oakland Raiders 150/1
Tennessee Titans 200/1
Cincinnati Bengals 250/1
Seattle Seahawks 300/1
Arizona Cardinals 400/1
Kansas City Chiefs 500/1

Those are all the odds. Thanks for stopping by and reading how to bet on the NFL Super Bowl. We haven’t been updating much so far this season, but we will be updating more from here on out. We’ll be bringing you up to date news and information on how and where you can bet the Super Bowl online, and what we think the best bets for this year’s NFL playoffs and Super Bowl will be.

Thanks again for reading, and we’ll see you soon :)

NFL Football Props for week 9 – Bet the Super Bowl

Below are some interesting prop bets for the 9th week of the NFL Football season. If you like prop bets (and you know that we do), you might enjoy betting on a few of these. You can find them all at the BoDog online sports book, and you might be able to find the same or similar ones at several sports books on the Las Vegas strip.

There are a lot of prop bets offered on Carson Palmer this week. The Raiders are coming off a bye, and this is will be Palmer’s first NFL start this year. The Raiders signed WR T.J. Houshmandzadeh this Tuesday to try to help with Palmer’s transition to Oakland. The two played together in Cincinnati for six years. This week they’ll face the Denver Broncos who have struggled containing opposing quarterbacks this year. This is the week we’ll see what Palmer can do. I’m expecting him to pass for over 220 yards and 1 interception.

Some interesting NFL week 9 Prop Bets:

Will the 49ers score a Rushing TD and not allow a Rushing TD Week 9?
Yes 5/2
No ¼

Will the New England Patriots Score 30 or more Points and Tom Brady throw for 300 or more Passing Yards Week 9?
Yes +200
No -300

What will Chris Johnson’s Yards Per Carry be in the 2011 Regular Season?
Over/Under 3.7

Tim Tebow – Total Turnovers Week 9
Over 1½ (EVEN)
Under 1½ (-130)

Carson Palmer – Completion % Week 9
Over/Under 58%

Carson Palmer – Total TD Passes Week 9
Over 1½ (+160)
Under 1½ (-200)

Carson Palmer – Total Interceptions Week 9
Over ½ (-200)
Under ½ (+160)

Carson Palmer – Total Passing yards Week 9
Over/Under 220½

There are some great games this weekend…

The New York Giants face the New England Patriots in a rematch of Super Bowl XLII. That was a great game. The Patriots were 17-0 that year coming into the Super Bowl and were big favorite over New York. Meanwhile, the Giants have a lot of fans, and instead of betting New York with the spread, they bet the Giants to win on the money line with great odds. Of course, the Giants ended up win that game and it was the first time in years that Las Vegas lost money on the Super Bowl due to all the bets on the Giants. That only happens once every 10 years, if that!

Other good match ups this weekend include the New York Jets at the Buffalo Bills, the San Francisco 49ers at the Washington Redskins, last year’s Super Bowl winners the Green Bay Packers at the San Diego Chargers, the Baltimore Ravens at the Pittsburgh Steelers and finally the Chicago Bears at the Philadelphia Eagles. Wow those are some great match ups. Through in the LSU and Alabama College Football game and this is a great weekend for football fans!

Enjoy the game this week. And as always, thanks for reading about how to bet the NFL Super Bowl. We’ll be here all season long, into the playoffs, of course for the Super Bowl and even in the off season, so be sure to stop by and read us often! Thanks! Have a great weekend of bets!

NFL Week 8 and updated Super Bowl Betting Odds

Congrats to the St Louis Cardinals for winning the World Series! It was a great 7 games, and probably one of the best World Series ever played. The Cards were not favored, but they managed to put a lot of the Vegas bettors in check by playing hard and beating the Rangers.

It’s now the eighth week of the NFL season, and there are some great match ups. The Buffalo Bills are playing the Washington Redskins in Toronto, and they just agreed to sign their quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick to a new 6 year $56 million dollar contract. That guy will now make more money in the next 6 years that I will make in over 20 lifetimes… Lucky bastard.

Another good match up this week is Pittsburgh Steelers hosting the New England Patriots. Both these teams are at the top of their divisions, and I wouldn’t be surprised if these two meet again the NFL playoffs on the way to the Super Bowl. This weekend the Patriots are favored even thought they’re playing in Pittsburgh. I can see either of these teams winning the Super Bowl any year. They have both been NFL power houses for the last 10 years, and that is one of the reasons why a lot of people bet them to win the Super Bowl every year before the season even starts.

The Sunday night game is an interesting match up in the NFL East. Dallas Cowboys travel to the Philadelphia Eagles. I’ve heard many people say that the Cowboys could be undefeated this year. In other words, “the only ones who can beat the Cowboys are the Cowboys,” meaning that Dallas is a great team with a lot of talent, but somehow they find ways to lose games. Just look at the Patriots game the other weeks. The Eagles were one of the favorites to win the Super Bowl when the season opened. They also have a lot of talent on their team, but so far they haven’t been able to make it work. We’ll see how wins this week. If I had to bet a side, I would bet on the Cowboys.

Below are the odds to win the Super Bowl XLVI at various points this year. We have listed the final pre-season odds that were available before the first regular NFL game was played. We also have last week’s Super Bowl odds and this week’s odds, so you can see how they changed based on last weekend’s games.

If you are interested in betting on the team to win the Super Bowl, I suggest never waiting for certain odds. If you really like a team to win it all, they will probably win a lot of games during the regular season, and their odds will just get smaller and smaller. so if you want to bet on a team, bet it early.

Madonna to Perform at Super Bowl XLVI Halftime Show

It’s been reported that Madonna will provide the halftime entertainment at Super Bowl XLVI. This will be Madonna’s first Super Bowl performance. She was slated to perform in both 1998 and 2000, but never did as negotiations fell through both time. The 2012 Super Bowl will be held at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis on February 5th. I bet this one happens.

Past Super Bowl Halftime Shows include The Black Eyed Peas, Usher and Slash last year, The Who in 2010 and Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band in 2009. The last female pop star to play the Super Bowl was Janet Jackson who preformed with P. Diddy, Nelly, Kid Rock, and Justin Timberlake in the 2004 Super Bowl. This was the year of the infamous “wardrobe malfunction” where Janet’s nipple flashed during the show on national television.

Well considering how old Madonna is now, we are certainly hoping that she doesn’t have any wardrobe malfunctions. Odds are she won’t. Jackson’s wasn’t very impressive, and Madonna’s would just be down right gross. Here’s to a nipple free Super Bowl!

We’ll be back with update Super Bowl bets, odds and news soon. Thanks for reading!

A Few NFL Week 4 Recaps – Is Detroit going to the Super Bowl?

Buffalo lost! Detroit won! Now after 4 weeks of play, there is only one undefeated team in the NFL, and it’s the Detroit Lions!

Is this team really supposes to be good? Aren’t they the same team that was the laughing stock of the NFL a few years ago? Well it was the lonely Lions that sucked back in the last decade, but now they look like they could be the best team in the NFL.

I just checked and you can still bet on them to win the Super Bowl at 14/1. I’m stocked the odds haven’t dropped yet, but they will. With this win today, I expect more money to start coming in on them soon.

It’s funny how much things change after 4 weeks of games. I know a great bettor who never bets on an NFL game before week 5. He always says that the first 4 weeks are total crap shoots. You need to see what teams can do before you can really handicap properly. That is certainly true for more than a few teams this year.

A month ago everyone was talking about how good a year the Philadelphia Eagles were going to have. They signed a lot of big names this off season, but it looks like they didn’t sign the guys that matter to Michael Vick – offensive linemen. And now the Eagles are 1-3. Ha ha. Fuck the Eagles!

I hate Michael Vick. I don’t think he should have been allowed right back into the NFL after his stint in jail. Sure, he was forced to take a 2 year break from the game, but that’s because he was in prison. Once he was released he was welcomed right back to the NFL with no punishments, and I’m not sure why. Other players have done much less and gotten multiple game suspensions. I guess the NFL decided that he was punished enough and they didn’t want to force him to take anymore time away from the game. IMAO that’s bullshit. If you suspend players for poor conduct, you should have suspended Vick for at least 8 games after he was able to return to the NFL.
\
As it turns out, it doesn’t matter much. Vick has been back in the NFL for years now, and he has taken over the starting quarterback position for the Eagles. He has done a good job there, but a lot of people hate him. Therefore they hate the Eagles. There is probably no other team in the NFL that is as hated as the Eagles… Okay, maybe the Dallas Cowboys or Pittsburgh Steelers, but people only dislike those teams because they are so popular. People hate Philly because of Vick.

I was also surprised to see the Minnesota Viking fall to the Chief. The Vikings are now 0-4 and they’ll soon have the longest odds to win the 2012 Super Bowl. I don’t think anyone in their right mind would actual bet on them to win the Super Bowl. After an 0-4 start, it obvious that this team sucks and isn’t going anywhere this year.

That’s all for now. The Baltimore Ravens are currently playing the New York Jets, and I’m watching this game. Time to go and really enjoy it. Thanks for reading!

Updated Odds to win the Super Bowl – NFL Week 4

It’s week 4 in the NFL regular season. Buffalo Bills and Detroit Lions are both undefeated.

Today the Buffalo Bills can make it four wins top start off the season, and they’ll need to beat the Cincinnati Bengals to do it. Considering their success in the NFL so far this season, a 4-0 start sounds like a good bet.

Online sportsbooks have the Bills at 28/1 odds of winning the Super Bowl. Those odds sound really high. This team won their first 3 games, so you can almost bank on them getting to the playoffs. That is a lot more than you can say about some of the other teams who have better odds of winning the Super Bowl. I say, if you want to bet on the Bills to win the Super Bowl, do it now because I can see these odds falling even week.

This team kicked the crap out of the Kansas City Chiefs on NFL opening weekend, and had an awesome come-from-behind victory over the New England Patriots last week. (The Pats are current the favorites to win the Super Bowl.) They also beat a much improved Oakland Raiders team who smashed the New York Jets last weekend. The Bills look impressive this year, that’s for sure!

Are the Lions for real? We’ll see as they have a real test this week verse the Dallas Cowboys. The Cowboys are 2-1 and have a pass defense that can shut down Megatron (Calvin Johnson). Tony Romo will have to step it up this week, even with his injuries. Dallas needs him to lead this team to victory. Current odds on the Lions to win the Super Bowl are 14/1.

On the other side of the coin, the Chiefs have looked horrible. I can’t imagine anyone wanting to bet on them to Super Bowl, but if you do the odds are great. At 500/1 they are the largest in the league. To put that in perspective, if you bet $100 on Kansas City to win the Super Bowl, and they do, you would win $50,000. Of course, they probably won’t even make the NFL playoffs, let alone win the Super Bowl.

Below you will find the odds on every FL team to win the 2012 Super Bowl XLVI in Indianapolis.

Green Bay Packers 9/2
New England Patriots 9/2
New Orleans Saints 9/1
San Diego Chargers 11/1

There is football! (Thank you God!)

It looks like there will be football this year! That’s great news for this site (which focuses on just football and the Super Bowl). I mean if there was not a football season this year, we have nothing to write. And a year off would suck! I mean the Spring and Summer without football is bad enough. Could you imagine fall and winter without the NFL? I shutter at the thought.

It has been sometime since we’ve updated, so there is a lot to talk about. We’ll touch on some of the recent moves (who’s playing where), maybe touch on some fantasy football stuff and then we’ll give you some updated Super Bowl Odds.

Some of the biggest news is happening with the Cincinatti Bangles. Chad CincoOcho was traded to the New England Patriots and Carson Palmer has publicly said that he will retire if Cinci doesn’t trade him.

Two of the best corner backs in the league are still available for teams to sign. Both Nnamdi Asomugha and Antonio Cromartie are at the top of every teams wish list. Oakland and the Jets would lose a lot of talent is they aren’t able to resign these players. The third best corner back free agent Johnathan Joseph has already been signed by the Houston Texans who like him better than Cromartie.

Wide receiver Sidney Rice is leaving Minnesota (and the newly acquired Donovan McNabb) for a big pay day in Seattle. It’s a big loss to McNabb and a great pick up for the Seahawks.

Speaking of the Seahawks, Matt Hasselbeck won’t be around to throw to Rice. Hasselbeck just signed a deal with the Tennessee Titans. So the greatest quarterback in Seattle’s history will end his career with another team.

Those are some of the biggest moves so far, but there will be a lot more coming soon. There are a lot of guys still unsigned and a lot of deals still to be made. For all the boredom that the NFL create with the lockup this summer, it has sure created a lot of excitement this week.

We haven’t even touched on the fantasy football impact of all these moves, and I think it’s still too early to really determine. A couple of signing can drastically change a team and their fantasy impact. Improvements on defense will help their offense stay on the field. An addition of one good lineman can drastically lift a running backs value just like a good wide receive can lift the value of a mediocre quarterback. I think we will have to wait a few weeks until everything is sorted out before we can really fairly assess everyone’s fantasy values.

Below are the current odds to win the Super Bowl. I would expect these to change A LOT over the next couple of weeks as more and more free agents find homes. For example Santonio Holmes is a beast and he’s a free agent. If he resigns with the Jets, I’m sure that would help their chance of winning the Super Bowl. If this happens I would expect their odds to drop. But if Holmes signs with another team, then I would think that the other teams Super Bowl odds would drop and the Jets odds might even increase a little since the odds of him signing with the Jets is probably already baked into the line.

More offseason posts!

Okay, now that is an exciting title, but I don’t have too much to back it up with. Instead of really focusing on this site, I’ve been doing some work around the web. In fact, I’m going to send a few links to some other sites that I like.

My new Twitter account is Bet the Super Bowl. I just made this account a few days ago. Follow me!

Same Dice – Not really sure what this site is yet. I love the domain, but I’m not sure where to go with the site. Right now I’m using it for development work for Cut Above, but I’ll probably keep the hosting and try to develop it down the road. For those of you who don’t know, Same Dice is what you say or yell at a craps table when one or both of the dice you are shooting leave the table. If you don’t quickly request the same dice, the casino will remove the die or dice that left the table and you will have to shoot with new dice. This is considered unlucky.

Atlantic City Sports Books – I created this site years ago on the hope that Atlantic City would at some point legalize sports betting. They haven’t yet, but it looks like it will be put on the New Jersey ballet for a vote this November! Away, this is a first entry thing. I created the site and haven’t touched it in years. But if sports betting is ever legalized, I’ll already have a site up and running with some serious history that can easy be updated. That’s called planning ahead.

A Cut Above Landscaping – This site belongs to a friend of mine, and it has very little links. In fact the only site that links here is another site I control. Anyway, this is now the second site linking to his landscaping company, and I’ll probably send him a few more over time. I’m currently updating his site, so I’m invested in making it rank well.

The Scumbag Michael Vick – This site is pretty new. I started it to remind everyone that Vick is still a scumbag even though he won the NFL comeback player of the year award. I really hate this guy and a lot of over people do to. I think that this site will rank really well once I develop it some more and it starts to get some attention. Of course, that might be a while since I’m working on some many other things right now. The Twitter account for this site is ScumbagVick.

Hopefully the NFL lockout will make for some interesting posting this offseason. It could really mess up the season and the Super Bowl (not to mention all my fantasy football leagues)

The boring off season…

So it’s the offseason, not too much to update. The next Super Bowl is about 11 months away and that is the only time of year that this site gets any traffic. In fact, the only reason that I’m updating now is because I want this site to maintain some new content so that Google and Bing keep coming here.

The people over a Sportsbook dot com have really tried to take over my search terms for bet on the Super Bowl. They have reached out to hundreds (if not thousands) of blog owners and paid them to link to their site with phrases like “bet the super bowl” or “super bowl betting”, “Super Bowl prop bets” etc. So far it’s worked for them. This site used to be the #1 in hit in Google, Yahoo and Bing for bet the super bowl in 2009. Along comes 2010 and sportsbook is the first hit in Google, Yahoo search results are powered by Bing and this site is still the first hit in Bing for bet the super bowl, but who knows how long that will last. Hopefully forever!

I did just renew this domain name for about 9 years, so I plan of having this site for a long time. Of course, I want visitors and if this doesn’t get a good ranking in the search engines, this site is near worthless.

After all, this site is built for only 1 game, and only 1 subject on that one game. I don’t talk about the history of the super bowl here, go can go to Wikipedia for that. I don’t talk about NFL contract negotiations, offseason trades, the draft or any regular season games. This site is focused on the Super Bowl, so I don’t really even start writing about the NFL season until the playoffs when the teams are narrowed down to the possible super bowl contenders.

Then I tell you what the odds are and where you can bet. I also explain how to bet. But that’s about it. I don’t pick any bets, because other people might like the other team. I don’t any really analysis on super bowl, I just tell you what the bets are…

So as I said, this site is focused on one aspect of one game a year. That is #1 a huge game to have 1 site focused just on betting it and #2 someone with way too much time on their hands to operate a site focused on betting 1 game a year.

Well, I just that’s why I don’t update this site too much in the off season. While I do have time on my hands, I like to think that I don’t have too much of it ?
