I’ve been neglecting the “Bet the NFL Super Bowl” site

And I can’t say that is going to stop. I mean it’s summer time and months away from the regular NFL season and more than 6 months away from the Super Bowl. How much Football can a guy write in the off season? Well thank god for Dom “dumb ass” Imus.

On this morning’s show, Imus & Co. were discussing suspended Dallas Cowboys corner back Adam “Pacman” Jones, who wants to drop his nickname. During the segment, one of his cohorts (perhaps Warner Wolfe?) tells Imus that Jones has “been arrested six times since being drafted by Tennessee in 2005.” Asks Imus: “What color is he?” Response: “He’s African-American.” You know where this is going.Concludes Imus: “Well, there you go. Now we know.”

Haha. Gotta love good old boy Imus for being the stupid racist that he is. I guess going up during slavery will do that to ya. I mean is the guy senile or what. It was less than a year ago that he got kicked off the air for saying racist sh!t about the Rutgers girls Basketball team and now he’s back saying more garbage…

Anyway, I don’t know why so many people care, and I can’t believe that that many people listen. I mean Howard Stern says a lot worse things on the air, probably to more listeners, and no one says boo. Old ass Imus says 2 remarks and it;s front page news… what a weird f-ed up world we live it.

Anyway, Pacman will always be Pacman to me… and probably the rest of the sports world as well. Sorry Jones, you don;t have the juice like Puffy does to just up and change your name and have people listen. Too bad, too sad you yellow pie chart looking thing (reference to the original Pacman).

Does the NFL cheat like the NBA?

I remember watching Super Bowl XL (Seahawks vs Steelers) and thinking that the game was rigged by the NFL. That was the day that I started doubting that the NFL was really a pure football league where players and coaches decided the outcome of games. I started to think that the NFL was more for show, like the WWE or Boxing.

I know that I’m not the only one that lost a little faith in the NFL that day. Fans were outraged the next day on bulliten boards across the internet and talk radio shows across the country. The Seahawks own coach said that they did not lose to the Steelers, they lost to the refs.

So how can the refs decide the fate of the Super Bowl and there be no repercussions? Probably because the right team won. The team the NFL wanted to win. The Steelers with the pride and history, in the Bus’s last year, winning as a underdog all through the playoffs. The team with the better market and the better story.

Since then, I’ve picked up on things I’ve heard around the league. Chad Johnson for instances saying the he is not a football player. That he hasn’t played football since college. Now he is an entertainer.

A guy I know is a sports writer for a major paper, and he tells me that all sports are fixed. Not just boxing. Not just the NBA or the NFL. All sports like hockey, like baseball, like soccer. Now I know he has to be generalizing. I’m sure that the World Cup isn’t fixed, and I’m sure that most sports games aren’t fixed, but I can see what he is talking about.

It makes me lose a little faith in the games that I watch, but if you can decide who the NFL wants to win the Super Bowl each year, and bet the right way, you could probably make some good money.

Slow NFL news day…

but everyday is in the off season.

Jerry Jones is building a new stadium and spending a lot of money. yawn.

Carson Palmer said the he is going to show up to the Cincinnati Bengals’ training camp. Good. That’s what he should do. And does this really surprise anyone?

Sunday night football games (not including the Super Bowl, but I bet this fits in the same category) are the least DVRed big ratings show on TV. Meaning that a lot of people tune in and they don’t record the game to watch later, they watch it live. Well this is good news for the NFL and it’s advertisers. Odds are people watch more adds during these games that during American Idol or other prime time shows. Now you can see why the NFL started the Sunday night game. Of course it sucks on the East Coast… Especially if you start drinking during the 1 pm games.

The Super Bowl kinda sucks on the East Coast too. It’s the biggest game of the year, and everyone goes out to watch it… But most people have work on Monday. I really wish that the NFL would move the Super Bowl up to 4 pm or so.  This would still be 1 pm on the West Coast and it might be a little early for Hawaii and Alaska, but who gives a shit about those places? Trust me NFL, move the Super Bowl up a few hours and the East Coast would appreciate it.

That are still talking about legalizing sports betting in New Jersey. If you would like them too, please email you congressmen and ask that they support legalizing sports betting country wide…

But Sen. Jeff Van Drew, D-Cape May, said a conservative-leaning U.S. Supreme Court could favor states’ rights.

“It is very difficult to understand how sports book could technically be legal in four states but not in 46 others,” Van Drew said.

Another day, another hangover

Went out drinking last night with some people that were in town. I like drinking and eating and partying on the weekends, but it really kills my Sundays. I lay on the couch all day and don’t feel like doing anything. In fact writing this post is probably the most productive thing that I’ve done all day, and it’s after 8pm…

Anyway, I just checked my ranking and links on yahoo, and this site is back on the first page for - Bet the Super Bowl - Yeah! It’s been a while, but I’ll take this as a good sign, and keep working on and writing on this site. After all, it looks like I’m getting a few more links, which is encouraging.

Tampa Bay signed Jemery Stevens, but are tying to cover up his criminal record. On their message boards, they will now ban anyone talking about or linking to records of his past criminal history. Stevens has been arrested for assault with a deadly weapon, marijuana possession, sexual assault and drunk driving. Not a clean a background…

Talking NFL Football and the more Super Bowl stuff

Yes, sir. I’m back again tonight. I just ordered a Tuna Melt, so I’m going to write until it comes. I guess the length of this post all depends on the chefs and delivery boy at my local deli.

So in Football news Javon Walker now loves the Denver Broncos vs Oakland Raiders rivalry. It seems a little late in his career to just get this, huh? Maybe he finally likes it now because Oakland sucks. Although they have sucked for years, but it doesn’t look like they will be turning it around this year.

Speaking of the Raiders, Michael Bush (one of their 200 running backs) has now fully healed and is read to lose 5 yards a carry regularly this year. That is until he is injured in week 5… and they cut next year.

Senator Arlen Specter is still going nuts about Spygate… now… after the 2007 season ended… and the New England Patriots played in the Super Bowl… It seems a little late to have his panties all twisted, but hey, I guess he hates Boston. I think most people do.

Personally, I would love to see Spygate blow the hell up. Senate investigations about how the Patriots were cheating when they won all those Super Bowls. Bill Belichick disgraced and run out of the NFL for life. Tom Brady losing endorsements. The news! The fanfare! The hoopla about some REAL cheating. Some REAL cheating that isn’t about drugs or mistresses. God, that scandal would be fun.

I could be like Michael Vick all over again. Bloggers would go nuts. There would be Youtube videos made. The sports talk shows would go crazy. Every team that lost the Super Bowl to the Patriots would demand that they be compensated. Players on these teams would look for more money. Some might sue. It would be a disaster for the NFL, and I’m sure that that is why they are covering it up as best they can. I sure hope that that Senator blows this thing up!

My damn phone was ringing and I thought it was my food… not yet, but I think I’m going to stop writing anyway… I know, I know, I’m such a liar. But I’m sitting here with no pants on… not like that I just took my work clothed off any haven’t…

Check that. Now my food is here. Peace.

Want an ad during the Super Bowl? We bet you don’t

Super Bowl adds for the 2009 game have now hit $3 million for a 30 second slot. That is an 11% increase over last year, and I think ridiculous. It’s not like FOX’s $2.7m per ad was cheap, but NBC is going to make a killing this year. Can I get a WNBC Howard Stern fans?

The NBA finals are looking for rating, and some say that they are trying to grab “Super Bowl like numbers”. Well, I say good luck NBA, but there is no way in hell you’ll come close. Even with a game 7. That’s right no fucking way.

The NFL is much more popular the NBA, and even with 2 big city teams, there is no way that basketball can compete with football. So you’ll probably get big draws in Boston and Los Angeles, but I was talking to a few people at work today (medium sports fan) and both said that they might watch a game if they saw it on. Neither had any interest in going and looking for the games, and both didn’t even know that the series starts tonight.

Maybe if the NBA is counting the viewers for all games and matching that up against all the Super Bowl viewers, they might be close, but there is no way that the world tunes in to watch single NBA finals game. The world simply doesn’t care enough. I’m also sure that plenty of Boston fans will be going between the finals and the Red Sox games during commercials.

So that’s it for tonight. Next time I’ll probably be back to talking about football again. See ya.

This site is gaining ground…

sometimes., it’s now #2 on google for “bet the Super Bowl”. It’s number 1 for “bet the NFL Super Bowl”… but it has been for a while. It also ranks great in MSN for all kinds of Super Bowl betting related searches. Yahoo is my biggest disappointment. This site was the first hit at the last Super Bowl and has since lost a lot of ranking at Yahoo. I think it got hit with some kind of penalty. I deleted all kinds of pages to try to get it back, and I think I ended up doing more damage than good. Doing a yahoo search of my site, 51 pages rank better than my homepage. That is terrible!

Anyway, like I say every post, there is a lot of time until the nest Super Bowl. That leaves me a ton of time to get my ranking back, and just me I’m trying… After all, this site has it all. A good domain name, a lot of links, history, new content (although this isn’t really sports betting related), and most importantly a motivated webmaster that will not let this site sink into the oblivion of the Internet.

I have tickets to the Yankee game tomorrow, but I’m giving them away to a friend. Work has been kicking my ass recently, and I really need to be able to work late tomorrow if I need to. Also my girl is outta town, and I would usually go with her… Also the Yankees kinda suck now… Also I enjoy being lazy during the week… Also I had a crazy weekend and I think the next one will be a little nuts too…

It’s the Belmont Stakes on Saturday, and I’m going. I have friends in from out of town for it and the US Argentina soccer game next Sunday. House guests…

Anyway, don’t feel like writing much more. I think that this is enough for tonight. Remember to check back here during the football season for update Super Bowl odds and bets. Thanks!
