Yeah, Canseco 45 year old football player who has been out of the game for years… This fight will suck, but I still have ringside seats of this event in Atlantic City.
Not much else worth talking about. It’s still months and months away from the Super Bowl…
The draft changed the odds for betting a winner for the next Super Bowl in 2009, but not on anyone major. The top teams are still favorites, and the biggest move was for long shot teams like the Kansas City Chiefs. Sure the Chiefs drafted 7 of the first 105 draft picks, so the sports books had to change the odds on them winning the Super Bowl, but they are still a 90-1 shot at BoDog (down from 125-1).
I just read an article about how this was such a big move, but come on, no one was betting KC to win the Super Bowl before, and no one is betting them now. Only real gamblers (who live in KC) might be betting this team, but gamblers in Maimi might be betting the Dolphins regardless of the odds.
Moves in the other direction were on the Texans (60/1 to 80/1) were people didn’t like their picks and the Browns (28/1 to 40/1) who didn’t draft a player until the 4th round this year…
Lastly, the Giants finally got there Super Bowl rings this week. Good for them.

Watching Jon and Kate plus 8… I couldn’t imagine having that many kids. And all at the same age, it’s crazy. I realized today that they are only 30. Hey I’m 30, and their life is completely different from mine…
Anyway, I’m watching this and the Mariners/Red Sox game. So far that game is kind of boring. 0-0 at the end of 2. I’m rooting for Seattle cause I put a small bet on them. Tagging along with the Sports Bettor. I’m not really thrilled with this bet, but hey, those are the ones I usually win. That and I like the girl on that sports betting blog, so I’m rolling with the bet.
Betting baseball can be fun, but I’d much rather bet on football… and bet on the Super Bowl. I mean baseball is so slow, and there are so many games, it seems like anything can happen. Because of the number of games, each game is less important in baseball than it is in football. Injured star players will rest for a few games in baseball, when they won’t in football because every game in the NFL counts. Sure baseball games count, but just not as much. It’s a big difference between playing 16 and over 100 games a season.
Most gamblers prefer to bet on football too. Sure gamblers bet on baseball, basketball, hockey, etc. but football is the number 1 bet sport in America, probably because of the short season. It’s so easy to watch football, an if your a fan, it’s easy to watch every game your team plays. It only takes 3 to 4 hours a week to root for an NFL team, but it takes much longer to watch every game of a team in another sport.
It’s much easier to be a football fan than a fan of any other sport. This convenience is probably why it is so popular, but also why so many people bet this sport. They watch a few games over the first few weeks and think that they know enough to pick winners. And that’s why there is so much action on the NFL.

and the summer is here.
They are talking about legalizing sports betting in Atlantic City again. And I for one think that this would be great! Imagine being able to legally bet on sports in 2 different US cities, not just Las Vegas. If AC gets sports gambling, people on the East Coast will have a great place to go to bet on the Super Bowl, March Madness, whatever.
Of course the major sports will fight to keep sports betting in AC outlawed. Why? Because the NFL likes to live in denial. Denial that most people watch games ONLY because they bet on it in one way or another. People bet the games straight up, with a spread, the total, in office pools, in fantasy football, and lots of other ways. The soul reason that football and the NFL are so popular in because people bet on the games. It is a short season, so each game has a large amounts of money on it.
Monday Night Football - This is the game where people who win or lose over the weekend can place a bet to try to win more or get back to even. That is why this game is sooo popular. Why else would someone on the west coast watch the Eagles vs Miami on a Monday night? No one would… But a lot do in Las Vegas and across the rest of the country because they have a little action on it.
The NFL should wake up and realize that sports betting is good for it. Their is a reason that the Super Bowl is the most heavily bet game every year, and it’s because people love to bet football. If it was impossible to bet on the NFL a lot of people would lose interest, but every office pool and bookie, gets people a little more interested.
Anyway, I would love it if they legalized Atlantic City Sports Betting.

In fact, I think that is was soooo good that I’m going to save it until a few weeks before the Super Bowl. It was all about Las Vegas and betting on the NFL Super Bowl, and it can’t stear me wrong in holding it until next January to drop that Golden Nugget on the internet. After all, whenever I write about Las Vegas, I’m writing about Sports Betting.
Sports Betting in Las Vegas is the main reason that the city fills up a few weekends a year. Good Luck trying to book a room on Super Bowl weekend and March Madness weekend for a reasonable rate. Those are probably 2 of the best weekends to visit Las Vegas, unless you are there for a big fight or New Years.
The gambling capitol of the United States… You have to love Las Vegas.
